Senior Advisor

Leticia “Letty” Mederos is one of Washington’s leading advisors on the annual appropriations process, with almost 15 years of service to the ranking member on the House Appropriations Committee, Representative Rosa DeLauro (D-CT). She has extensive experience helping nonprofit advocacy organizations advance federal investments in childcare and early learning, education, the workforce, and health care.

Prior to teaming with Raben, she was a partner at Actum, where she used her public affairs, grassroots organizing, government, appropriations, and legislative relations to deliver highly meaningful and measurable outcomes for clients around the world. Before that, Letty was senior managing director of government affairs at an international law firm.

In government, Letty served as chief of staff to U.S. Representative Rosa DeLauro (D-CT) and managed her subcommittee on appropriations dealing with labor, health, and human services, and education, as well as the women’s agenda, including legislation around equal pay for equal work, paid leave and paid sick days, and reproductive health. Letty was the lead strategist behind the representative’s successful campaign to become chair of the Appropriations Committee in the 117th Congress. Letty has also spent significant time engaged in labor and national workforce policy, serving as Director of Labor for U.S. Senator Patty Murray (D-WA) at the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) and in the same role at the House Committee on Education and Labor for former U.S. Representative George Miller (D-CA).
