Kayla Suarez is a senior associate in the Strategic Communications practice in Raben's El Paso office, where she uses her experience in nonprofit communications, event management, marketing, and media relations to tell clients’ stories.
Before joining Raben, Kayla spent almost seven years at YWCA El Paso del Norte Region. There, she managed the organization’s media, marketing, and communications efforts. She was also the staff lead on event marketing and logistics and later went on to develop initiatives in line with the organization’s mission of eliminating racism and empowering women. Kayla led the organization’s Courageous Conversations, which were a series of virtual conversations highlighting people of color and progressive issues, such as anti-Asian hate, critical race theory, LGBTQ+ and Indigenous stories, and more. She also spearheaded the organization’s International Menstrual Hygiene Day efforts by developing product drives, fundraising efforts, and communications efforts focused on normalizing menstruation. She also oversaw the organization’s initiative to successfully bring banned books sections to every City of El Paso library, including leading fundraising and communications efforts as well as liaising with city council members.
Kayla has a bachelor’s degree in public relations and a master’s degree in mass communications from Texas Tech University. She is proud to be from El Paso, Texas, and proud of her Puerto Rican heritage. She loves movies and spending time with her family and her rescue dog Stella.
